Peter Goodfellow was confirmed as National Party President this morning.
Mr Goodfellow survived a vote to be re-elected to the party's board of directors yesterday at the party's national conference, despite a campaign to unseat him led by right-wing blogger and National Party member Cameron Slater, who runs WhaleOil.
The board met this morning and re-elected Mr Goodfellow as president.
He welcomed Malcolm Plimmer, the chair of the lower North Island region, to the board.
Roger Bridges, chair of Canterbury Westland region, was also re-elected to the board.
