Emergency services are rushing to a person with serious injuries who crashed while using a glider north of Waiuku.

Police said a glider crash in Āwhitu, rural South Auckland, was reported about 3.50pm.

One person had been seriously injured and would be taken to hospital.

According to a witness, the incident is unfolding near Hamilton’s Gap.

Fire and Emergency said two crews were helping to rescue a person from a creek.

Hato Hone St John has been approached for comment.
