Gas smell reported near Wellington Airport

Firefighters were called to a gas leak near Wellington Airport this morning.

They arrived at the international air cargo building at Moa Point about 7.30am.

A Fire Service spokeswoman said the smell of gas was gone but a gas leak was found and isolated.

Firefighters were still on the scene, waiting for gas workers to arrive.

"It didn't affect the operations at the airport," the spokeswoman said.
