Frightened film-star Tuku still swinging free

Tuku the monkey is still at large in Nile Valley, 27km southwest of Westport. He and his owner, Moana Zoo curator Jacquie Grant, were working on the set of the BBC dinosaur movie The Lost World when Tuku "freaked" and swung into the distance last Thursday. About 50 crew, schoolchildren and Norwest Adventures staff have spent hours looking for the South American capuchin monkey. Ms Grant said the disappearance was out of character for Tuku, who made several television appearances after he was named after former New Zealand First MP Tukoroirangi Morgan. She has reared 5-year-old Tuku since he was an hour old and is fretting over his disappearance.
