It’s alleged the offending occurred on December 14 this year.
A charge of threatening to kill carries a maximum term of seven years in prison.
It is a category three offence, the second-highest level of offending.
The assault charge is also a category three offence and can result in a prison sentence of up to two years.
The man is due to reappear in court in April next year.
