Former teacher on 40-year-old sex charges

A former art teacher has been charged with sexual offences against a one-time pupil between 1959 and 1962.

The 74-year-old man appeared in the Lower Hutt District Court yesterday charged with sodomy and indecent assault on a boy aged 12 to 16.

He was remanded on bail until next month. His name was suppressed.
