A former Government employee accused of selling methamphetamine and cannabis to a woman can be named on Monday unless his lawyer applies to the Court of Appeal for continued name suppression.
The man is facing a charge of supplying the Class A drug methamphetamine and another of selling cannabis toa person over the age of 18.
Police allege both offences happened between June 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012 while the man was still employed in a senior position by the Government in Northland.
In the High Court at Whangarei on Wednesday the man appealed against a decision to end name suppression and in a decision released late today Justice Rebecca Ellis dismissed the appeal and ruled that name suppression should lapse.
However, Justice Ellis ordered that no details of the man, including address, occupation or any identifying details, can be published until 5pm on Monday to enable him to give instructions to his lawyer as to whether to appeal the decision to the Court of Appeal.
