Despite promises a new flying fox would be in action in September, the new piece of equipment is still to be seen in Queen Elizabeth park.
The old flying fox was burned to the ground by vandals this year.
Masterton District Council parks and recreations manager Grant Hathaway, who hadearlier told the Times-Age a new flying fox was due to be finished in September, was unable to say what had caused the delay. He said the contractors had been fabricating the components off-site and he was still "getting to the bottom of it".
Parks and open spaces task group chairwoman Jane Terpstra said at a meeting last Wednesday that councillors were told the equipment should be installed "any day".
"There's nothing holding it up in the council end," she said.
