Five people are suffering minor injuries after a bus with 39 people on board, mostly children veered off the road near Central North Island's Tangiwai.
Emergency services were called to State Highway 49, five kilometres from Tangiwai at 2.45pm today where a bus had come off the road, a police
spokeswoman said.
There were 39 passengers on board, most of which were children.
An ambulance spokesman said five people were treated at the scene for minor injuries and no one was transported to hospital.
