Firefighters free girl stuck in pool vent

Firefighters had to use soap suds to help free a four-year-old girl after her hand became stuck in a Parnell spa pool vent yesterday afternoon.

It is understood the girl was swimming in the pool about 1.30pm when her hand got stuck in the water vent. A St John spokeswoman said the girl was taken to the emergency department at Starship Children's Hospital in a stable condition with minor to moderate hand injuries.
