The South Island will be fine for most places except for a few showers in the far south and Fiordland. And the West Coast will develop showers later today.
Auckland and Northland will start the day with a few showers which are expected to clear this morning.
The Bay of Plenty is reasonable fine, but Rotorua can expect afternoon and evening showers, while Hawkes Bay and Gisborne will see cloudy periods for much of the day.
Tomorrow will be fine and dry in the North Island.
"It's looking dry for most areas. There's a bit of cloud in western parts of the North Island but it will be clearing up in the east," Mr Glassey said.
