Fine for misconduct in car sale

A former Napier nurse who sold a damaged car to a mental health patient has been found guilty of professional misconduct and fined $11,500.

The Nursing Council said the nurse sold the client a 1984 Honda that had no warrant of fitness or registration.

Damage to the car meant it had little chance of getting a warrant. The client also had debt problems and needed to borrow money to buy the car, the council said in its ruling.
