One person was killed and six others were injured in a crash in Waikato tonight.
Their car rolled just before 8.30pm and came to rest upside down in a drain on State
Highway 1 at Piarere, southeast of Cambridge.
Emergency crews worked to extract the survivors from the wreckage.
The
six were taken to Waikato Hospital, some in a serious condition.
In West Auckland about half an hour earlier, a car crashed off Huia Rd in Waitakere, trapping the driver.
