A person is dead after they were hit while walking in Rodney this evening.
The person was hit about 9.20pm on State Highway 71, in Dairy Flat near the intersection with Horseshoe Bush Road.
Despite first aid by an off duty Police Officer the 18 year old male victim was
pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was injured in the accident and the Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
State Highway 17 is now closed with detours in place.
