Epsom Girls Grammar is considering a fresh complaint to Auckland Council after a Herald report that brothels are operating in its immediate area.
Seven brothels - four Chinese-operated massage clinics and three home-based brothels - offer commercial sex at the Epsom end of Manukau Rd, just a short walk from
the school.
"Epsom Girls is concerned about the operation of brothels very close to the school," principal Madeline Gunn said. "In the past we have discussed this with other schools in the area and have complained without any change occurring.
"Now we're aware of the number of such businesses in our immediate area, we shall look at it further."
The school is the second large establishment in the area, after Te Unga Waka Marae, considering action. Eugene Harris, a past marae chairman, said it was disgusting to have brothels as neighbours.
