Emergency services are still responding to a house fire in Hamilton East this afternoon.
Fire Emergency New Zealand were called to the fire on Nixon St at about 1.30pm to find the house engulfed in flames.
A Fire Emergency Northern Communications shift manager said two of the four appliances whichattended the "well-involved" house fire were still at the scene.
A Police media spokeswoman confirmed Police were at the scene and were assisting a man in regards to a mental health issue.
The man had been taken from the house and no one appeared to be injured.
