Elderly man dies after losing control of scooter

Save An elderly man died after losing control of his scooter and crashing into a fence this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to an intersection in rural eastern Waikato, north of Te Aroha, about 2.30pm, Senior Sergeant Rod Carpinter said.
Initial indications was the man had lost control of his scooter
and crashed into a fence, Mr Carpinter said.
Serious crash unit investigators were examining the scene to try and identify any contributing factors to the crash.
The man's death has been reported to the coroner.
