A man has been flown to hospital with multi-trauma injuries after his car collided with the back of a truck near Nelson this morning.
It's believed the truck slowed or stopped because of early morning sun strike before the crash happened on State Highway 6 in Whangamoa, between Nelson and
Rai Valley.
The crash happened at about 7.45am.
The man was removed from his car by fire rescue crew and was treated at the scene by paramedics,
He was then flown by the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter to Nelson Hospital Emergency Department with multi-trauma injuries for further assessment.
