Defiant group of Dunedin protesters remain in Octagon

A small but defiant group of protesters remain in Dunedin's Octagon.

A handful of tents cover a small portion of the grass-covered public space - a significant decline since October 15 when over 30 tents 100 protesters set up camp.

Police have refused to enforce eviction notices handed down to protesters by the City Council, citing the Bill of Rights.

Mayor Dave Cull says they're still reviewing their legal options, while public opinion on the inner-city encampment remains divided.
