Death of man found in stream not suspicious

Police have named a man whose body was found in a Palmerston North stream yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan said the man was Jonathan William Tarrant, 37, who lived near the Clausen Street stream.

"Following today's post-mortem examination, and completion of initial inquiries, I am satisfied that Mr Tarrant's death is not suspicious," Mr Sheridan said.

"It will take some weeks for final toxicology results to be known."
