Death after 'incident' in water at Spirits Bay in Far North

A man has died after what police are calling a "water incident" at Spirits Bay, north of Kaitaia.

Police were called to reports of a man falling into the sea at Spirits Bay at around 3:30pm today.

Police said they were working to notify the man's next of kin and the death would be referred to the coroner.
