Dead teen named

The teenager who died soon after falling over a cliff on to rocks in the Bay of Islands early on Sunday was Vaughan Aramoana Rogers, 18, of Kaikohe.

Police said Mr Rogers was at the top of Lookout Hill above Marsden Rd in Paihia with a young woman companion about 4am.

In trying to help the woman with her footing he stumbled and fell down a scrub-covered bank and then over a 10m sheer cliff on to rocks below.
