The report on David Bain's compensation claim has been received by the Justice Minister.
Canadian Justice Ian Binnie was appointed in November last year to investigate the claim.
Judith Collins will meet with him over the next two weeks to discuss his report.
The report's details won't be released until
Cabinet reaches a decision over any compensation for David Bain.
Mr Bain was convicted in 1995 of murdering his family and spent 13 years in jail before being acquitted in a 2009 retrial.
