Date set for Mei Fan murder trial

Wellington murder victim Mei Fan.

A trial date has been set for a Wellington man charged with murdering his estranged wife.

Michael Preston, 59, appeared in the High Court at Wellington this morning where a trial date of April 20 next year was set.

He was was arrested and charged with the murder of his estranged wife, Mei Fan, 37, in November last year.

Mother of two Ms Fan was found stabbed to death in her Miramar home two days after she died.

Preston was remanded in custody until his trial.
