Dalefield aims to rattle Northern United's cage in their Wellington premier division men's hockey match in Wellington tomorrow. Aware his side will start as rank underdogs against one of the competition's stronger teams, Dalefield coach Mark Fenwick is intent on his side adopting a positive approach. " They (Northern United) do tendto get a bit rattled under pressure and the more of that we can impose on them the better for us," Fenwick said. "We have to get in their faces and at least let them know we are there." Spearheading the Dalefield charge will be Andy Ewington who has returned from national under-21 tournament duty. He has been mainly used at centre back this season but Fenwick has thoughts of moving him into the halfline with the idea of him becoming more involved in an attacking sense. The absence of Aaron Nielsen will be felt by Dalefield, however, as his ability to play well in a number of positions-left inner, left half and fullback ? has made him a valuable member of the side The Dalefield women are also looking for more urgency in their game when they play Karori in a Wellington premier division match in Wellington tomorrow. The last time the two teams met the young Karroi side scored a comfortable win but Dalefield coach Rochelle Retter is optimistic her team can turn the tables on this occasion, especially with Karori likely to be weakened by the absence of two or three players who are expected to be involved in an age-group tournament actually being played in Masterton. Retter said she was looking for more drive and zip from her side in and around the goal circle and she took a novel approach at training last week to assist in that respect, her players spending time learning kick boxing skills rather than doing the usual hockey drills. "We are looking for more aggression and hopefully the kick boxing will help them there," she said. "The skill factor isn't a problem, it's just a matter of being more determined attacking-wise". Tomorrow's game signals the start of the second round and Retter believes Dalefield are still a realistic chance to make the championship playoffs. "We're not out of it yet and a win over Karori will set us on the right track," she said.
