Cycleway death not suspicious - police

Police have found no suspicious circumstances in the death of a man whose body was found on a cycleway under the Bond St overbridge in Auckland.

A post mortem examination has found Matthew MacDonald, 38, of Western Springs, died of multiple injuries sustained in a fall, police said.

The case has been referred to the coroner.

Ambulance officers said the man was dead when they arrived at the cycle track near Bond St, close to the north western motorway, about 12.40am yesterday.

A tent was erected over the body until it was removed for the post mortem examination.
