Southland rural car fire being treated as suspicious incident, one injured

A car fire discovered on a rural Southland road is being treated as suspicious, with reports that one person has been injured.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on Dunsdale Valley Rd at about 6.15am today.

Fire and Emergency said crews from Hedgehope extinguished the fire.

The Herald understands one person was injured in the incident.

Hato Hone was approached for comment, however directed all further queries to police.

It is understood the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Police have been approached for comment.
