When the Stockton Police Department in the United States posted mugshots of four men they'd arrested after a spate of shootings and robberies, one of the crims found instant fame.
Thanks to the power of social media, the photo of Jeremy Meeks went viral and now the convicted crim has
become an internet sensation because of his good looks.
Some people can't see the attraction but model agencies certainly do - there has been talk that once the court case is behind him, the former Northern Crips gang member with the piercing blue eyes and the full lips will be signed to an agency.
What is it about women and bad boys? Why are there women in this world who will stride across the backs of 99 lovely men to be with the one man who will treat them badly? Perhaps it's the fact that women can flirt with danger vicariously; you don't have to live the criminal life but you can get the thrill of being an outlaw by living with a man who does.
Perhaps it's the idea of being able to redeem a bad boy: he may be on the wrong path but the love of a good woman will save him. I've certainly heard plenty of stories from reformed crims who gave up offending once they met the right woman.
