Construction worker impaled on steel rod at school

Save A young construction worker was seriously injured when he fell onto a steel rod and was impaled in Auckland this afternoon.
The man, thought to be aged 18, was doing work for Canam Construction at Meadowbank Primary School when the incident occurred about 1.15pm.
An ambulance spokesman said he was
thought to have been impaled through his rectum.
He was taken to Auckland Hospital in a serious condition.
Canam Construction general manager Andrew Clark said the man's injuries were not though to be life-threatening and he was conscious.
