Bevan Chuang claims Luigi Wewege knew of the relationship between her and Len Brown in July, three months before the election.

Text messaging between Chuang and Wewege in July and August refer to the relationship. Texting on July 31, in which Chuang discusses why she does not want to be involved in a plan to reveal her relationship with Brown, concludes, "and it won't help my future by saying I'm involved in an extra-marital relationship?"

Chuang also says Wewege knew she and Brown were caught in the Ngati Whatua room in a compromising position by a security guard.

Chuang denies saying she thought Brown had orchestrated her election loss.

"Luigi told me that he felt that Len Brown somehow orchestrated my election loss," she tells the Herald on Sunday. "In the carpark that night with Palino, Palino said that Len should tell people to vote for me and get the 'Labour people to make sure I get elected'."

At the post-election party at Wildfire, Chuang says, Wewege "tried to stay away from me but had given me hugs.

"He did say in front of Palino, 'How's my Bevan'?"

She also disputes Wewege's claim that on election night he no longer cared whether the affair went public. "The text/Facebook message said otherwise - he was asking why can't I see Stephen Cook earlier, but I said I need to work and need money - to which he said, you won't after this."

Though Wewege says he was never Chuang's boyfriend and that they were simply "flirty", text messaging between the pair gives a different impression.
