Lincoln late-night assault leaves one person critically injured, 36-year-old charged

A person is in a critical condition after a late-night assault in Canterbury.

Detective James Loh said police were called to the assault in Robert St, Lincoln, about 11.40pm last night.

Hato Hone St John responded with an ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.

One person was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition.

Loh said a 36-year-old man was due to appear in the Christchurch District Court today, charged with assault.
