Save A child has been critically injured after being hit by a truck north of Houhora this afternoon.
A critically injured child has been airlifted to Starship children's hospital after being hit by a truck in Northland.
A St John spokesperson said a helicopter and ambulance had been dispatched to the incident on State Highway 1 just north of Houhora, Northland.
The child had been taken to Starship
in a critical condition.
The incident occurred around 3.15pm this afternoon, a police spokeswoman said.
