Two men face serious violence charges after an alleged road rage attack at a Hamilton intersection nearly three months ago.
Hamilton CIB Detective Shane Tuhi said officers attended the incident at the intersection of Massey and Korimako Sts, in Frankton, about 9am on February 27.
“Police conducted inquiries and establishedthat the assault appeared to be a road-rage incident, which started on Higgins Rd and made its way to the intersection where the assault occurred, and involved two offenders.”
The men fled the scene in a car, leaving the victim in a serious condition. He was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Detective Shane Tuhi confirmed a 20-year-old was arrested last week and appeared in Hamilton District Court on Friday, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is due to reappear on May 29.
Tuhi said they arrested a second man, aged 23, yesterday and he was due to face the same charge at Hamilton District Court today.
