Burning oil from deep-fat fryer injures man

A Levin man was flown to Hutt Hospital burns unit last night with arm and abdominal injuries after water was thrown over a deep-fat fryer to extinguish flames.

Burning oil had blown back over the 26-year-old during the incident at his home, said Mike Hall, of the Palmerston North-based Square Trust Rescue Helicopter service.
