Arun Kumar was allegedly stabbed to death in his Henderson dairy.
A boy who was with a couple of teens before they allegedly killed an Auckland dairy owner will continue to give evidence today.
A 14-year-old boy is on trial in the High Court at Auckland charged with murdering Arun Kumar, while his 13-year-old co-accused faces a charge of manslaughter afterthe incident in Henderson's Railside Dairy almost a year ago.
The pair, who have name suppression, also face counts of assault with intent to rob.
The 14-year-old friend of the defendants was interviewed by police the day after the incident, which left Mr Kumar bleeding to death from a neck wound on the floor of the shop he had owned for five years.
Video of that discussion was played for the jury yesterday.
The witness, whose name is also suppressed, initially told police he was not there and only saw the aftermath because he was going to the murder-accused's house that morning to pick up his school uniform.
But he later admitted to police he had followed the boys to the dairy and back to the older defendant's home as they fled.
"As soon as I got to his house he told me everything. He just left trails of blood everywhere and the cops knew straight away it was him," the boy said.
