A large blaze has ripped through two houses in Wellington this morning.
Nine fire trucks were called to the scene of the fire on Adelaide Rd in Berhampore, just after 9am this morning, central fire communications shift manager Jan Wills said.
The two fires had since been extinguished she said,but the extent of the damage caused by the blaze was not yet known.
Despite the large amount of smoke, no one was evacuated from surrounding houses or businesses.
Eight fire trucks remained at the scene, and fire investigators had been notified.
