West Auckland bus crashes into power pole, sparks road closures

A bus has crashed into a power pole in a West Auckland suburb.

The incident at the intersection of Neville St and Portage Rd in New Lynn was reported about 4.30pm and emergency services are in attendance.

The pole is currently leaning against a building and the bus driver has not been seriously injured.

Police are at the intersections of Clark St and Hill Cres with traffic being directed away from part of Portage Rd while lines contractors are deployed to make the scene safe.

Police have advised people to avoid the area if at all possible while the scene is cleared.

Auckland Transport have been approached for comment.
