An Auckland Airport spokesperson said the safety and security of the airport’s operation is their priority.
“This morning security processing at the international terminal was disrupted following a security breach, which caused some delays for travellers,” they said.
“The situation has now been resolved and security processing has resumed.

Travellers flying internationally have been advised to stay across any updates from their airline for the latest travel information.
A CAA spokesperson said the incident happened about 10.30am and occurred when a passenger passed through a screening point without undergoing the full screening process.
“The incident was identified and managed promptly, by Aviation Security and Auckland Airport, in line with standard security protocols,” the spokesperson said.
“This caused some disruption to departing flights and screening was stopped while the matter was resolved.
“As a result, queues had built up, prior to screening being recommenced.
”To quickly process the backlog of passengers, extra screening lanes were opened."
