Auckland commuters are being warned of delays after two crashes on significant parts of the motorways this afternoon.
A crash about 4pm blocked several lanes on the Southern Motorway, on the Southern Link, not far from the Grafton Rd onramp.
There was also reduced visibility on the roads because of rain.
Emergency crews cleared the site about half an hour later, but the NZ Transport Agency warned motorists to expect delays as congestion eases.
A second crash about 4.30pm on State Highway 20, the Southwestern motorway, left the right northbound lane blocked just after Puhinui Rd.
Police said a vehicle had lost control and flipped. There were no serious injuries reported, however, a police spokesman said.
That crash has also since been cleared, but traffic on the northbound lanes is backed up to Lambie Drive.
