A promising junior rugby league player who was filmed fighting a fellow Otahuhu College student has pleaded with the administrators of a "high school fights" Facebook page to take the video down.
The clip, which was uploaded to the page "Aotearoa Fights", showed 15-year-old Raymond Taumalolo punching another student tothe ground and repeatedly hitting him in the head, One News reported.
Taumalolo said he was unsure who had taken the video filmed in March.
"To be honest, I got kind of angry 'cause I didn't want the video to get exposed out to media. I snapped after [a] guy was picking on me the whole of term one," he told One News.
The teen, who has now left the college to begin training with the Cronulla Sharks' U-16 team in Sydney, said he wanted to be an example to other students so they would learn that "fighting takes you nowhere".
