Auckland police hunting Killer Beez gang member William Nelson-Bell over thefts and assaults

Police are hunting a known gang associate in South Auckland who is wanted for arrest in relation to assaults and thefts in the area.

Authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of William Nelson-Bell, who is said to be known to frequent the Counties Manukau area.

In a statement issued to media, police said the 23-year-old is wanted in relation to assault and theft offences.

“It’s believed he is actively avoiding police,” the statement said.

Members of the public are being urged to contact police immediately if they have any information that may help find him.

“If you have seen him or have any information that may assist in locating him, please update us online now or call 105.”

In 2022, Nelson-Bell avoided jail time after taking part in four drive-by shootings around South Auckland on his 18th birthday.

In October 2022, the then 19-year-old – who had pleaded guilty to his role – appeared in the High Court at Auckland and was sentenced to home detention at the Auckland-based Grace Foundation.

The charitable trust is the country’s largest rehabilitation and accommodation service for people released from prison.

The High Court Judge made it clear to Nelson-Bell that he would never again enjoy the mitigating discounts at that level.

“I believe your attendance at Grace Foundation appears to be an opportunity to break the cycle of your family history,” the judge said at the time.
