A blaze near Arthur's Pass has flared up again, almost one week after it first broke out.
Three fire ground crews and a helicopter with a monsoon bucket are battling the scrub fire at Mt Horrible.
Fire Service shift manager Tim Reynolds said crews are dealing with "hotspots" that came
up last night.
Reynolds said a section of State Highway 73 is closed will the helicopter is operating.
The fire first broke out last Sunday, temporarily closing State Highway 73.
