Arrests over Gisborne gang clash

Ten gang members were arrested after two clashes in Gisborne yesterday.

Senior Sergeant Tony Gibson said five members each of the Black Power and Mongrel Mob gangs were arrested.

The first incident happened in the grounds of the Gisborne District Court, and three people were arrested for fighting.

Later the two groups arrived at Gisborne Police Station at the same time and confronted each other. Seven other people were then arrested for unlawful assembly.
