The police armed offenders squad has been called to a Huntly address.

A police communications spokesman could not confirm the address the callout is focused around.

A witness told the Herald that east Hakanoa St was closed from Fletcher St.

A Waikato Police spokesman said he believed the callout was related to a planned operation in Ngaruawahia, south of Huntly, where a search warrant was being executed.

He said the AOS was were present to support the execution of the warrant.
