Air New Zealand today made at least 250,000 discount seats available during its traditional off-peak season for domestic flights.
The tickets have to be used between April 29 and June 25, and can be booked online from midnight on April 5, chief operating officer Andew Miller said.
"The seat sell-out experience ofother low cost carriers around the world shows this is a popular promotional concept with travellers," Mr Miller said.
There are more than 70,000 seats on flights out of Auckland, 70,000 from Christchurch, 100,000 from Wellington, and a further 10,000 from provincial centres.
"Provincial centres also benefit from the low fare seat availability, depending on the size of the airline's operation into that centre and route capacity," he said in a statement.
Pricing in the super saver seat range can vary. A $10 service fee applies to fares booked offline.
