Air NZ loses discrimination appeal

Air NZ has failed in a bid to overturn a ruling that it discriminated against a pilot who wanted to keep flying after he turned 60.

The Court of Appeal said it could hear appeals only on points of law from Employment Court judgments, and the Air NZ case did not raise any.

Former pilot Sidney Rush had sued the airline for the way it treated him when he turned 60 in early 2001.
