Abused boy's mother to stay in jail

A Whakatane woman who allowed her 2-year-old son to be abused by two men living in her house has been denied home detention.

Jill Tania Tito, 24, was sentenced to 18 months in prison last month for permitting the abuse that almost killed her son.

She was given leave to apply for home detention but her application was turned down at a Parole Board hearing yesterday.
