9-year-old dies in farm incident

A 9-year-old boy has died in a farm death south of Kaikoura.

Police said they attended the incident on Inland Road, Kaikoura at 6.06pm today.

"The matter has been referred to the Coroner for cause of death to be determined and WorkSafe have been advised," they said.

"Police would like to extend their sympathies to the boy's family for their loss."
