4.4-magnitude quake strikes off Christchurch coast

A 4.4 magnitude aftershock has struck off the coast of Christchurch.

The quake hit at 2:39pm at a depth of 6km, about 10km out to sea, GNS Science reports.

Residents reported feeling a lot of ground movement from the shake.

It follows another 4.4 magnitude shock that struck at 6.37am, at a depth of 5km, and was centred 10km southeast of Christchurch.
