3-year-old girl missing in Christchurch found safe and well

A 3-year-old girl has been found safe and well after earlier going missing in Christchurch.

Police about 6.45pm said they were searching for the girl, named as Mila, in the Broomfield and Yaldhurst areas.

They appealed to the public for any sightings of the girl with long blonde hair, a light green dress, pink shorts, and possibly a pink scooter.

She was found about 7.30pm.

Police tonight thanked the Christchurch community for their help.

"Our request for community assistance generated a very large and immediate community response to locate Mila and she was found soon after," a police statement said.

"There are no suspicious circumstances around Mila's short disappearance and she is safe and well back with her very relieved family."
